Primary point of contact for internal and external parties such as vetting/screening companies, owners, charterers, stakeholders on all vetting related inquiries.
Monitoring the vetting inspection status for the fleet and arrange inspections on request as per relevant schemes (e.g. Rightship) or as needed
Carry out pre-vetting inspections and physically assist the vessel during vetting inspections as required
Lead the follow up and contribute actively in incident investigations being requested by vetting/screening companies, owners, charterers, stakeholders
Prepare ships and follow up on any type of vetting inspections in close cooperation with Master, C/E and internal stakeholders to guarantee excellent inspection results in future
Analyse vetting inspection results in context of defined KPI's and management review
Monitor rules, regulation and new requirements of the dry cargo industry and evaluate possible changes for the company management system and planned maintenance job descriptions
Seagoing experience in position as Master or Chief Officer OR minimum 2 years experience as Vetting Superintendent
Persuasiveness and enthusiasm as well as the ability to contribute positively as part of a team and to adapt to a diverse working and team environment
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Good self-organization, a structured way of working and effective time management
Self-motivation and the ability to work successfully under time pressure
Fluent in spoken and written English
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
Good presentation skills
