Aurora Deutschland GmbH, headquartered in Berlin, is one of the largest licensed pharmaceutical wholesalers for medical cannabis and an authorized narcotics distributor. Additionally, the company is a GMP-certified importer of pharmaceuticals. The medical cannabis products distributed by Aurora Deutschland are classified as medicinal products under Section 2 (1) of the German Medicines Act (AMG) and as starting materials under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Operating Regulations (ApBetrO).
Aurora Deutschland is part of Aurora Europe GmbH, which is a subsidiary of the publicly traded Canadian cannabis manufacturer Aurora Cannabis Inc., headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. In addition to its import and wholesale licenses, Aurora Deutschland also holds a manufacturing license.
At our Berlin location (near S+U Innsbrucker Platz), we are looking for a
SCM Senior Specialist/Planner (m/f/d)
to join our global Supply Chain Management team.
*This is a temporary position to cover parental leave, initially limited until October 31, 2027.*
The SCM Senior Specialist/Planner (m/f/d) is accountable for the import planning and processing of goods in the Europe region and primary contact person for German authorities as it relates to imports. Working collaboratively across multiple functions and regions, with attention to detail and seamless coordination is critical to being successful in this role. This role supports the SCM Planning with respect to timely execution and communication of inbound supply as well as supporting Site Production planning.
Your major responsibilities will include:
- Partner with cross functional team on regulatory compliance and permit management in global import and planning.
- Plan quantities/batches for imports according to demand and manufacturing planning.
- Track batch specification, shelf life to ensure they meet demand and regional requirements.
- Planning and communication with various suppliers for transportation planning.
- Track and monitor timely release through QA.
- Manage the import permits (shelf life, potency etc) and communicate to suppliers for customs clearance.
- Timely and accurate communication of import deviations with Authorities.
- Translate business objectives into actionable analysis and own end-to-end analytics and effectively execute solutions.
- Facilitate cross functional team meetings.
- Support SCM Team as it relates to planning, manufacturing & logistics needs.
- Responsibility for Supply Chain project management tasks.
- Carrying out other tasks as directed by the division management.
- Completion of a degree, preferably with a focus in supply chain, logistics or similar discipline
- 5+ years' experience in a Supply Chain, Import/Export, Logistics Role
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and German
- Pharma/ GMP experience/ background is a key asset
- Strong understanding of and experience in Import/Export and Regulatory Compliance
- Project Management capabilities- proven track record of leading and delivering cross functional projects
- Strong Excel and technical/functional skills (Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/ERP Systems)
- Good understanding of ERP Systems
- Good understanding of S&OP [Demand/Supply/Logistics Planning]
- Experience with data visualization and analysis using Power BI
- Working with high level of accuracy without direct supervision
- Self Motivated and Customer Focus/Service Oriented
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing data and reports
- High degree of responsibility, solution oriented and network thinking
