The product portfolio includes filter media made of cellulose, micro glass fibers, synthetic fibers and composites for applications in the automotive industry, ventilation and air conditioning technology, clean rooms, respiratory protection and water treatment. H&V also supplies battery separators to all leading battery manufacturers. H&V operates 13 plants on three continents.

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager (f/m/d) to lead our accounting operations across the European region. This individual will play a key role in driving financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic reporting. As a senior leader in the Finance team, you will manage accounting functions, ensure financial transparency, and optimize processes to support the company‘s growth and business objectives.
Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team across the UK and Germany.
  • Mentor, guide, and manage the team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of timely and accurate financial statements and statutory filings for the European region in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), local GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the company adheres to all local direct and indirect tax laws, statutory reporting requirements, and corporate policies in the countries where it operates.
  • Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:
  • Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard the Company's financial assets.
  • Proactively identify and address accounting and financial risks, ensuring proper mitigations and resolutions.

Audit & Taxation:
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and addressing any findings or recommendations.
  • Lead interactions with tax authorities regarding VAT, income tax and transfer pricing audits and coordinate responses with Corporate Tax
  • Oversee and manage local tax filings and related compliance activities, collaborating with tax professionals to minimize tax risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Operations, Sales, Legal, Treasury) to ensure alignment and integration of financial information across all business functions.
  • Partner with local cost center owners regarding Selling, general and administrative budgets, forecasts, and actuals reviews.

Education:
  • Bachelor‘s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master‘s degree or professional certification (e.g., CCA, ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role, preferably in a multinational or European-focused organization.
  • Proven experience with IFRS, local GAAP, and managing financial reporting across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws, audit processes, and internal controls in the European context.

Skills & Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams and driving high performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
