Senior Syndicated Loans Originator (m/w/d)

Are you keen to advise corporate clients on their financing strategy while working in a professional cross border team that is strongly connected with banks, clients and advisors? In the Syndicated Loan Origination team we are looking for a new colleague to represent our growing franchise in Frankfurt. You will be responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of syndicated loans, club deals and event-driven transactions for our clients in the DACH region. We work across Europe and various sectors, out of our offices in Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt am Main.
Syndicated Loan Origination is part of the Financing Solutions (”FS”) unit of ABN AMRO's Corporate Banking business line. All lending products and expertise are clustered in this FS product unit. We are responsible for
the structuring of a variety of lending products for all sectors and segments. These activities are executed in the
following FS departments: Lending, Corporate Investments and Specialised & Syndicated Lending, the latter
includes Syndicated Loan Origination, Leveraged Finance, Export Finance, Project Finance and FI Lending).
The role of Executive Director within Syndicated Loan Origination will be positioned in the FS unit in Frankfurt am Main.
You have a functional reporting line to the Managing Director, Head of Syndicated Loan Origination in
Amsterdam.
As a member of the Syndicated Loan Origination team, you will be building sustainable long-term relationships with clients and prospects by offering tailor-made financing solutions and using specialised sector and structuring expertise. You act as a ‘trusted advisor' that can leverage on strong relationships with clients in the DACH region to support and accelerate our regional and sectoral growth initiatives.
You are the face in the syndicated loan markets in the DACH region and will be responsible for originating and
leading new deals. You maintain an excellent dialogue and relationship with banks, clients and advisors.
Your responsibilities will include pitching to clients, structuring, documenting and executing
transactions, and coordinating with different banks. During transactions we closely collaborate with departments such as Loan Syndicate, Lending and the Sustainability Expertise team, working with the latter in particular on green or sustainability-linked transactions. You will also be part of different Client Service Teams, managed by the Coverage Bankers to develop the broader commercial relationship with clients.
Syndicated Loan Origination acts as a centre of expertise and your job also includes contribution to internal projects such as process optimisation, innovation, regulatory developments and other organisation-wide initiatives.
Part of your job is to educated internal stakeholders and to coach and develop the juniors and trainees while they rotate in the team.
You closely cooperate within the Syndicated Loan Origination team in Amsterdam and London to achieve a ‘one-team, multiple locations', unified culture with a focus on further developing a fully international, best-in-class execution mentality and capability in the business.
- An experienced corporate banker with at least 10 years of significant experience in the syndicated loan markets and preferably adjacent products experience
- In depth knowledge and a proven track record in the German or DACH syndicated loan markets
- You are a strong communicator, are able to connect with clients, banks and relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and support the build-out and delivery of Syndicated Loan Origination in selected sectors based on experience, relationships and track-record
- You have a strong eye for commercial opportunities to identify and recognise cross-sell opportunities that build on the product strengths of ABN AMRO
- You possess analytical skills and are able to understand and develop financial structures
- You have a thorough understanding of credit risks and credit and capital structures, and act as an effective ‘first line of defence' in DACH (and abroad where applicable)
- As a true finance professional, you are able to adapt to changes and use them to your advantage
- You are a team player and are willing to educated colleagues and coach juniors
- You take responsibility and are accountable for your behaviour
- Global view on developments in the financial industry
- You are fluent in (business) English and German
