Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany is a young, dynamic company with its roots in South Korea. The Asian vibe can be felt throughout the whole company, making it a one-of-a-kind place to work.
In order to build on the success story in Korea, Hyundai Motor Company started to open R&D Centers for all main markets worldwide. The purpose of Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center is to make sure that every Hyundai, KIA and Genesis which comes to Europe meets the demanding standards of the European customer and is adapted to the needs of that specific market.
To ensure this, we take on a wide range of research and development tasks at HMETC with a motivated team from many countries and cultures. These tasks cover the areas of Powertrain, Vehicle Development, Planning & Project Management, Electronic Systems, Commercial Vehicles, Design and a wide range of tasks in Corporate Functions for all three of the Group's strong brands.
To start shortly, we are currently seeking a
(Sr.) Engineer for vehicle structure & lightweight for N brand (m/f/d)
- (Concept) Development and optimization of vehicle structures for High Performance Vehicles (N brand) made of various materials (metal, composite, etc.) for small & large scale production including Advanced Prototype vehicles
- Advanced and/or series development of lightweight components/systems to increase driving dynamics
- Consulting of/close cooperation with our Korean R&D Center members in various teams related to vehicle structures
- Identification of market/technology trends e.g. based on supplier contacts, conference participation and other sources
- Benchmarking and target definition for components, system performance and overall vehicle performance
- Overall project management, documentation and presentation of project results to internal and external stakeholders
- Close cooperation with HMETC departments as well as external partners
- Degree in mechanical/ automotive engineering
- Min. 3 years of related experience in engineering design for High Performance Vehicle, Sports or Race cars
- Expert in vehicle structures, (small & large scale) manufacturing processes & materials (metal, composites, plastics, ...)
- Understanding of the full process from concept to development to manufacturing also for small series production (advanced prototypes/rolling labs as well as low-volume series production)
- Good knowledge of structural mechanics; experience in handling of CAE/FEA tools is a plus
- Strong project ownership attitude and communication skills to connect people from various international teams
- Passion for innovative technologies with an overview of the relevant market trends
- Willingness to travel and valid European driving license B
- Very good command of English, intercultural skills and openness to work in a multi-national environment
