We are looking for experts who would like to join a newly formed, growing Organizational Development team that is part of the global People & Organizational Development function in Corporate HR. We advise and support ZEISS building critical organizational capabilities to achieve its ambitious targets.

In this role you are our expert in the team for Organizational Diagnosis & Design, enabling business leaders and HR colleagues to define and implement changes to organizational structures (incl. roles, governance and decision-making processes) for different functional areas.


  • Develop independently concepts, frameworks and guidelines for Organizational Development with a focus on Organizational Diagnosis & Design for the ZEISS Group

  • Define and implement independently organizational development interventions designed to achieve the ZEISS strategy and support ZEISS' transformation ambitions

  • Drive a standardized and integrated approach to building ZEISS critical organizational capabilities by providing aligned methodologies and tools and advising on their application

  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders on different hierarchical levels and act as trusted advisor

  • Systematically assess change needs or evaluate planned structural changes in close collaboration with HR colleagues and business leaders to recommend appropriate implementation approaches

  • Act as advisor for specific organizational development projects, e.g. support in defining of Target Operating Model and (re-)design of processes

  • Lead projects to implement defined organizational changes, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring adequate Change Management support

  • Contribute to the growth of a newly created function by building an integrated Organizational Development portfolio for ZEISS as well as an internal and external ecosystem

  • Coach and mentor team members with respect to organizational analysis and design

  • Align closely with the Transformation Consulting experts in the team as well as other relevant HR colleagues

  • Promote a Community of Practice including enabling the use of tools and methodologies and coaching colleagues involved in Organizational Development across ZEISS, ensure that best practices are identified and implemented


  • Master's degree and relevant professional qualifications/accreditations (e.g., in behavioral sciences, (industrial) psychology, leadership development, human resources, or similar).

  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience with a focus on Organizational Development, ideally with international experience

  • Consulting background preferred

  • High proficiency in diagnosing and addressing complex organizational challenges and identification of fit-for-purpose interventions at team and organizational level

  • Proven experience in the creation of business-oriented, global concepts and their implementation

  • Strong competency in independently leading (cross-boundary) projects, including navigating complex stakeholder maps and driving Organizational Development activities

  • Substantial experience with complex Organizational Development needs (e.g. growth-driven re-organizations, post merger integrations, …)

  • Team-orientation and the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment

  • Ability to quickly develop business understanding and strong partnerships to drive Organizational Development activities, strong business acumen

  • Strong analytical and communication skills combined with ‘can-do' – mentality. Driven by high focus on results, assertiveness and pragmatism

  • Business fluency in written and spoken English
