Job Summary:

The Tooling Design Department is an essential component in Engineering and Operations. The team's objective is to continue the support in designing tools the manufacturing facilities require for production, provide innovative solutions and services to the tooling group and other departments within the company. The designer hired for the position will be part of a team that rely on effective teamwork and global collaboration in a fast pace and dynamic environment.


  • Maintain and support existing tooling
  • Provide good centerline spacing lay out for experimental molds, commercial molds, Multi Trim Dies (MTD's) and devices
  • Able to design experimental molds, commercial molds, MTD´s and devices
  • Coordinate tooling orders for global manufacturing plants
  • Good understanding of tools and processes to support the West plants and other cross-functional or engineering departments with tooling issues, global tooling standardization questions and best practices
  • Assume responsibility for various assigned projects to improve product quality and tooling designs
  • Collaborate with our fabrication shops and elastomer manufacturing facilities to verify, optimize and correct tooling designs and modifications
  • Maintain awareness of new technology trends, materials, and design/analytical software

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related science
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in manufacturing with preferred experience in pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office and advanced knowledge in SolidWorks
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Finite Element Analysis, and PDM Pro is preferred
  • Ability to translate mechanical documents and engineering drawings into appropriate dimensions for production
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including flexibility, collaboration and inclusion skills, and ability to work in an international team environment
  • Ability to speak in front of groups, express & exchange ideas, observe and interpret situations
  • Ability to make independent and sound judgments, and to work under time constraints
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, information and documents
