The role of the highly experienced and organized Head of PMI Excellence is to lead the integration of newly acquired companies into the ZEISS organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for governing and consulting the post-merger integration process on a global scale within the ZEISS Group and ensuring that all elements of the integration plan - in particular with regards to corporate and business service functions - are executed smoothly and efficiently.

  • Lead and develop global integration strategies and design group-wide standard integration processes and tools / playbooks

  • Develop comprehensive post-merger integration plans, tailored to specific acquisitions, that include all functional areas, such as finance, tax, brand, human resources, IT, and legal

  • Ensure that all integration activities are aligned with the company's overall strategy and objectives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of all systems, processes, and technologies

  • Supervise the proper implementation of integration plans on a global scale

  • Coordinate with the business segments / strategic business units the consolidation of duplicate functions and the rationalization of resources

  • Lead the team to participate actively in due diligence processes and define implications for PMI phase

  • Ensure that all relevant stakeholders, including employees, customers, and suppliers, are effectively engaged and informed throughout the integration process

  • Conduct regular progress reviews and provide regular reports to senior management on the status of the integration Identify and evaluate potential synergies and benefits from the integration of assets and operations

  • Build up a professional network of best-in-class post-merger integration advisers


  • Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

  • Proven long-term experience as a post-merger integration manager, with a track record of successfully leading large and mid-sized integrations, ideally in an industrial / technological environment

  • Familiarity with M&A processes and best practices, as well as experience with post-merger integration planning and execution – ideally with “hand's on” experience

  • Strong project management skills, including experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • English proficiency, both written and spoken, is a must; any other language is an asset
