The Opportunity

The business has a unique opportunity to realign business processes globally and make the entire Group ready for the future. Today, around 14,000 employees work with existing SAP ERP systems. They call up over 50 million transactions every month.

ZEISS aims to standardize and regularize different ERP systems, from numerous companies across the entire Group during the changeover from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA (FIT4). The goal is to be as close as possible to the SAP standard and to harmonize processes across all segments and countries wherever it makes sense, focusing around: Efficiency, Effectivity, Speed, Flexibility & Compliance

The Role

The Head of Business Process Excellence EMEA Hub (f/m/x) shall lead and manage overall responsibility for SAP S/4 HANA developments of all legal entities in Fit4 EMEA region, coordinate and supervise multiple related resources, drive key decision-making to support the high-quality of Fit4 project implementation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for SAP S/4HANA deployments within Fit4 EMEA hub

  • Coordinate and supervise multiple teams and act as sparring partner for business project managers of multiple deployment projects

  • Drive communication with key executive stakeholders and manage progress reporting and escalations to business program lead

  • Drive decision-making on key design aspects and ensure template governance within the hub

  • Identify, escalate/mitigate, and resolve business-related issues & risks within the hub

  • Define and install measures and processes to ensure quality of deliverables


  • Master's degree in business administration, project management or equal studies

  • At least 8 years of professional project management experience with a focus on (large-scale) business transformations, ideally in SAP context and with a background in top management consulting

  • Sound understanding of common E2E business processes (e.g., Lead-to-Cash, Plan-to-Produce)

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to manage (multiple) regional teams

  • Experience with steering external providers, system integrators or consultancies

  • Ability to manage relationships and communication with executive leadership level

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
