Community Bank is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) owned bank provided by the Military Services to support authorized customers’ needs. The bank is operated through a contract between the DoD and a commercial financial institution. The current contractor is Navy Federal Credit Union . We have over 60 banking centers and nearly 300 ATMs in Europe and the Pacific region to support the Military Personnel, DoD U.S. Civilian Employees and their family members while they serve overseas. For our District Office in Mainz-Kastel we are looking for a Manager Europe Payments (m/f/d) as soon as possible, working full-time (40 hrs.) on-site. Your key responsibilities: Oversee daily operations for outgoing and incoming payments including ACH, wire transfers, SEPA, SWIFT, BACS and instant/faster payments. Ensure timely processing, posting, and support during reconciliation of all payment transactions. Manage relationships with payment processors, financial institutions, and third-party vendors. Monitor fraud indicators and support risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with compliance teams. Analyze payment data and prepare operational and financial performance reports. Drive automation and system improvements to optimize transaction processing workflows. Oversee all aspects of item processing including check deposits, returns, corrections, and clearing operations. Coordinate balancing, support reconciliation, and exception handling for all processed items. Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new tools related to item processing. Your skills: You are a flexible, logical and analytical thinker and fluent in oral and written German and English. You are team-oriented, have a structured, and proactive working style, the ability to work and remain calm under pressure and proven management/leadership skills. Strong understanding of payment networks, digital payment systems, payment processors, core banking systems and reconciliation processes. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Familiarity with compliance regulations and industry standards related to payments and financial operations. Programming skills and a deep understanding of the IT infrastructure for financial systems. What do we offer: A permanent employment contract in a unique working environment.
