The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board until 2024.
In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

The Role
We are looking for a seasoned People & Culture generalist (all genders) who thrives in structuring and innovating core processes to support and reward our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR administration and compensation management. You will work closely with our automation team. If you are passionate both about fine-tuning payroll data processing and advising leadership on fair and competitive reward frameworks, then we strongly encourage you to submit your application.
Your responsibilities include
- Oversee and continuously improve all HR administrative processes, including contract management, employee data, and compliance documentation.
- Lead compensation and benefits strategy: review and implement reward frameworks.
- Manage payroll interfaces and ensure accurate, timely processing with external providers.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, guidelines, and process documentation.
- Support managers and employees with HR-related queries
- Partner with Finance and Leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and people cost analysis.
- Drive process automation and system improvements across the HR function.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices HR management and compensation.
Required Background & Competencies for Success in this Role
- Bachelor's degree in HR, economics, business administration, the humanities or a comparable education
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a similar role, proven track record in developing and implementing HR strategy in high-performing environments
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is a plus
- Solid understanding of employment law and compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluency both in German and English
- Strong organizational and project management skills
