As VP Regulatory Affairs Strategy (m/f/d), you will represent the SEFE Group on regulatory matters with a focus on shaping the energy wholesale market. This includes leading and coordinating members of the Regulatory Affairs (RA) community within the organization, including in the UK, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Managing Projects within the Regulatory Affairs community related to the group-wide regulatory strategy
- Supporting the Senior Vice President Regulatory Affairs in reporting to SEFE's decision-making bodies on relevant political and regulatory developments and positioning top management regarding energy market design
- Leading and continuously developing the Group's regulatory activities, especially regarding the evolution of energy market design and the future role of capacity mechanisms
- Further developing existing and building new relationships with policymakers, regulatory authorities, and associations in energy policy, with a particular focus on market design
- Leading industry initiatives in the field of Regulatory Affairs
- Ensuring external regulatory representation of the Group by preparing and delivering expert presentations and participating in relevant industry meetings
- Defining guidelines and fostering collaboration, information, and knowledge sharing with the community and regulatory professionals across the organization, especially regarding energy market design
- Managing and being responsible for the Group's positioning on regulatory issues related to energy market design
- Onboarding and training new employees, as needed
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Master's degree or equivalent qualification (e.g. Diplom)
- Excellent expertise and proven understanding of energy wholesale market design in Germany and Europe, and experience working with key regulatory authorities and governments
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and political frameworks in Germany and Europe, including key requirements, deficiencies, uncertainties, and upcoming changes
- Proven track record of successful collaboration with energy policy decision-makers, regulators, and industry associations in Germany and Europe, as well as a strong professional network
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex topics in a concise, audience-specific manner—especially for top management, external stakeholders, and public institutions
- Experience working in an international environment and willingness to travel regularly within and outside of Germany
- Ability to lead subject-matter experts across various locations, set priorities, and work independently
- Willingness and ability to work in a matrix organizational structure
- Fluent in both German and English, with strong intercultural competence
