As a tactical buyer you foremost provide procurement support to projects on global and on local scale e.g. in the area of new product/equipment developments and plant-specific investment projects. As part of the operational procurement team you further are responsible to process and create purchase orders, track order confirmations and deliveries beyond the project-specific purchase demands.

Identify and source materials, equipment, and services required for projects as well as negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, evaluate their performance and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process

Work closely with project managers to understand project timelines, specifications, and budget constraints to ensure that procurement activities align with project schedules

Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends and pricing with the purpose to utilize this information to make informed purchasing decisions

Monitor project budgets and expenditures related to procurement and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality

Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications to use this information e.g. to prepare reports on procurement status and project spending for management review

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations, assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and material quality

Process & create purchase orders, track order confirmations and deliveries

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Advanced experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a project-based environment

Strong negotiation and communication skills

Proficiency in procurement software SAP and Microsoft Office Suite additionally to the ability to assess technical tasks and requirements

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with strong solution orientation and assertiveness

Interest to work collaboratively in a team environment

Fluent skills in English and advanced skills in German
