Data Engineer (all genders)
- Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust, secure, and high-performance data pipelines using modern ELT/ETL tools—supporting critical analytics and operational use cases
- Modernization: Play a key role in migrating legacy data systems, particularly SAP BW, into a scalable Azure-based architecture—helping define reusable patterns and transition paths
- Data Architecture Alignment: Work closely with data architects and analytics engineers to structure data for fast, intuitive consumption in tools like Power BI and support analytical product delivery
- Governance & Quality: Implement best practices for data quality, lineage tracking, validation and access control—ensuring trust and reliability in enterprise datasets
- Automation & Observability: Drive platform stability through automation, monitoring, and CI/CD integration—embedding quality checks and recovery mechanisms across pipelines
- Business Partnership: Translate business and analytics requirements into scalable, performant data models and reusable datasets that enable self-service and cross-functional collaboration
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document pipelines, workflows, and standards to contribute to a transparent, product-minded data engineering culture that scales with the organization
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience in a modern data environment, ideally with exposure to large-scale migrations or platform rebuilds
- SAP BW Transition Knowledge: Experience working with or migrating from SAP BW to cloud-native solutions is strongly preferred
- Cloud Expertise: Proven ability to design and implement solutions using Azure Data Services—such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Synapse and related tooling
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with dbt and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM) is a strong plus
- BI & Analytics Support: Demonstrated experience delivering clean, governed data models and datasets optimized for BI platforms, especially Power BI
- Data Governance: Solid understanding of data management frameworks, including privacy, access controls, lineage and cataloging practices
- Mindset: Fast, pragmatic and collaborative—able to work across functions, move between technical detail and business impact, and continuously iterate to improve
- Languages: Business-fluent English skills and a good command in German both written and spoken
