  • Work closely with Executive Board members and business unit management to shape the strategic orientation of the business and the ZEISS Group

  • Diagnose business issues and understand the drivers. Co-drive the ZEISS group strategy process

  • Independently structure project approaches and define what is in scope

  • Set up and steer strategic initiatives and projects – often with cross-functional members, in part with external consultancies

  • Ensure the business unit perspective is reflected in corporate strategy

  • Engage stakeholders across hierarchy levels incl. the Executive Board and present recommendations


  • A degree with excellent grades in natural sciences or engineering

  • At least 5 years at one of the leading management consultancies, corporate strategy or other fast-paced strategy roles leading project teams – experience in a B2B high-tech manufacturing industry, and a combination of consulting and corporate experience are preferred

  • Strong problem-solving skills, results-orientation, project management and communication skills

  • Enjoy collaborating closely across organisational boundaries and working with interdisciplinary teams

  • Fluent English, German is a plus
