Ornua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its members, Ireland's dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland's largest exporter of Irish dairy products and has annualised sales of over €3.4bn.
Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua has a strong global team of 3,000 employees, operating from 9 business units worldwide, including 16 production facilities. Ornua's core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products.
Ornua is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Deutschland GmbH, based in Neukirchen-Vluyn, northwest of Dusseldorf, and known for its Kerrygold brand, is a subsidiary of the Irish Ornua Cooperative Limited in Dublin. Our sustainable pasture-based farming and excellent product quality have made us the market leader in the categories of butter, blended fats, and cheddar in Germany.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :
- Develop and oversee the execution and implementation of the marketing strategy for Ornua Foods Germany, home of Kerrygold brand. As a member of Ornua Germany´s Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the success of our Brand, you will also play a key role in developing the wider business strategy and the overall performance, operation and direction of the business in Germany.
- Working closely, and aligned with the Global Brand team, lead the development of strategic marketing plans for Kerrygold with reference, where relevant, to global brand charters, that drive local brand growth in line with short, medium and long term plans.
- Develop, lead and set direction to a high-performing Marketing function, including the Brands and Creative teams, fostering a culture that's grounded in Ornua's competency and value framework.
- Commercial responsibility for Brand performance, creating and driving marketing strategies that build on and enhance existing platforms and deliver tools for ongoing Brand value growth for the business. Collaborate closely with the Sales Director and their team to ensure delivery of brand objectives grounded in customer and consumer insight.
- As a key contributor to Global Marketing initiatives, identify and drive strategic growth opportunities for Kerrygold globally, sustaining and enhancing its position as a premium dairy brand in its key markets.
- In collaboration with Global Marketing & R&D colleagues, ensure there is, at all times, a pipeline of product and packaging innovations that set the pace for the category and help us achieve our sustainability commitments.
- Be the voice and champion for Ornua Germany´s portfolio of brands at the Executive table and with key external & internal stakeholders, ensuring there is explicit clarity and understanding on the value and role that each brand brings to their respective categories.
- Lead internal education and focus on brands to deliver on the Ornua Germany strategic pillars and create internal excitement and pride in all of our brands.
- Ensure effective control and accountability of marketing activity results, return on investment, taking action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets and that post-campaign reviews and analysis take place regularly, and are action orientated.
- Demonstrate robust commercial and financial acumen in all activities, understanding the impact they have on the P&L.
- Drive a Packaging strategy that ensures our brands offer a best-in-class and compelling consumer offering, while simultaneously delivering on our strategic target in sustainability
- Oversee all legal areas pertaining to brand activity in Germany in collaboration with Ornua's Legal Team including, but not limited to, trademark, registrations, legal challenges, brand licensing and portfolio infringement.
- As a member of the Ornua Germany Senior Leadership Team, provide broader leadership and direction to the overall business strategy and performance, always role modelling Ornua's competency and values framework and staying true to the Foods Germany Senior Leadership Team purpose; you be expected to contribute beyond your functional area of expertise.
KEY REQUIREMENTS :
• Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in business, marketing, or food related discipline
• Extensive relevant FMCG marketing and branding experience, preferably in the FMCG sector
• Experience of partnering with Sales customers to drive growth • An energised and passionate believer in brands and their potential to unlock value for the business and customers
• A proven leader with a demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing teams which drive growth in sales and market share
• A demonstrable understanding of the grocery retail, consumer and media markets, with an innate understanding of integrated brand communication.
• Experience managing external creative agencies in development and execution of television, media and shopper programs
• Excellent commercial acumen with P&L understanding and experience; able to provide strategic input to the wider business
• Capable of initiating and driving change and the behaviours that support same
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build value-adding relationships, both internally and externally
