We are currently seeking a Commercial Contract Manager (x|f|m) for the Commercial Excellence Team in BPS division based in Göttingen (Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH). In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the sales organization with reviewing and responding to revisions to commercial terms in defined sales contracts. These contracts will consist of framework agreements, MSAs, service agreements, supply agreements, general terms & conditions, term sheets etc. You will also serve as the interface to Sartorius Legal Affairs & Compliance to ensure that Sartorius Group legal and compliance requirements are met. The Commercial Contract Manager will be responsible for securing compliance with the relevant sales contracts and assuring the initial setup, revision and documentation within the defined process.

  • Be a contractual interface and review sales related contracts and tenders, to provide commercial feedback and insight on contract terms to ensure adherence to Sartorius policies and business strategies

  • Represent and assist the sales organization during calls with external parties and provide active support in successfully negotiating and seeking resolutions to negotiated points, if necessary, with support from Legal Affairs & Compliance

  • Coordination of the contract and tender execution strategy across regions

  • Measure the performance of signed contracts and challenge existing clauses that are not favorable to Sartorius.

  • Provide trainings to internal stakeholders to empower them to pre-review commercial contracts

  • Support the development of digital contract management process within the given Customer Relationship Management system to ensure transparency on commercial contract terms

  • Support the organization in maintaining a work environment with a customer oriented and quality mindset that fosters learning, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork, inclusion & diversity


  • You have a master's degree in law, business administration, finance or related field

  • Several years of professional experience in contract management, a paralegal background is a plus

  • Sales experience within the Life Sciences industry is a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at various organizational levels

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and commercial implications of complex contract terms

  • Proficient in project coordination and process optimization with a focus on digital tools

  • Fluent in English, another European languages are an advantage
