As a department for strategic new product projects & data analytic within the Marketing & Sales area at Daimler AG, in addtion we are responsible for the project Customer Understanding 2.0.
As part of the projects, we support the organization for implementation of big data and analytics projects and decision making based on data.
All with the goal of better customer understanding, deriving better products and offering customers better services as well as improving internal planning potential.
Alongside the other teams and departments of MS organization, our team work together with other departments, such as RD, Finance or Legal Department, and the external partners.
For our multicultural, highly skilled team, we seek a Data Engineer and Data Access Specialist (m/f).
Your tasks will be:
Integration of data sources (focus sales & vehicle data) into the MS analytics infrastructure including design and conception.
Implementation (sub-) project work e.g. creation of the comprehensive load or technical concepts, development and implementation.
Implementation of high-performance, cross-system data pipelines: from data sources, through data integration in the analytics infrastructure to use in analytical models and operationalization.
Further development of the architecture and set-up of the existing technical analytics infrastructure.
Close cross-functional national and international cooperation with several relevant contacts, e.g. Specialist and IT departments, data teams (especially data scientists and product owner data access), external specialists.
Manipulation / transformation of high-volume, high-dimensionality data to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships and trends, and to provide data scientists with data.
Compilation and analysis of large, structured and unstructured datasets.
Improving the quality of existing data.
Development of new innovative analysis solutions and recognition of the resulting aquisition possibilities for MS data.
Researching modern data sources (such as mobile data, social media, machine data) in terms of relevance, data quality, availability for use in MS use cases.
Completed degree in IT, Business Informatics, Mathematics or comparable qualification
Experience and specific knowledge:
Several years of experience in machine learning and data mining and their application in the area of big data
Practical experience with mathematical analysis in statistical programming language R or Pyton
Several years of practical experience in cleansing and structuring data
In-depth experience with data extraction and transformation
High affinity to cars, mobility concepts and their customers
Fluent in English
Good knowledge of German desirable
Profound knowledge in programming with Python and R
Knowledge of cloud providers and services (preferably Microsoft Azure) and their operating models
First experiences in interactive data visualization with data analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Visual Analytics, Matplotlib)
Professional skills with data analysis tools (e.g. Pandas, scikit-learn, iPython, Databricks, Spark)
