The Chair of Dynamical Systems, Professor Fabian Wirth , is seeking a Doctoral Researcher (Graduate Research Assistant) to start on May 1, 2026 or later. This is an 0.75 FTE research-only position with a three-year contract. It involves no teaching duties and is intended to lead to the completion of a doctoral degree. Duties and responsibilities Conduct research within the project ROBUSTA: Robust Stability, Control and Observation of Networks of Time-Delayed Systems , addressing current challenges in the analysis and control of nonlinear time-delay systems. The project is a collaboration between the University of Passau, the University of Bayreuth and Université Paris-Saclay, jointly funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the French National Research Agency (ANR). Prepare research reports, present findings at international conferences and publish results in relevant academic journals. Your profile A university Master's degree (or equivalent) in mathematics. Prior knowledge of functional analysis, ordinary differential equations, control theory or dynamical systems theory is beneficial but not a prerequisite. A strong enthusiasm for mathematics and an interest in tackling open research questions. Fluency in English; knowledge of French is desirable but not essential. Willingness and motivation to undertake extended research stays (particularly in Bayreuth and Paris) and to participate in international conferences.
