Frontex is the European Border and Coast Guard Agency supporting EU Member States and Schengen Associated Countries in managing the EU's external borders. As part of the European Border and Coast Guard Standing Corps, officers work in diverse and demanding environments where professionalism, cooperation and respect for fundamental rights are essential.

Officers deployed by Frontex work alongside national authorities and support daily border management tasks in the field.
As an Officer – Team Member in the European Border and Coast Guard Standing Corps, you will work at the frontline of EU border and migration management. Following a full time Operational Training Programme, you will be deployed on rotation to EU external borders or, when required, third countries.
Your core duties include:
- Carrying out border checks, border surveillance and patrol activities
- Screening, fingerprinting and registering migrants and gathering information
- Performing identity, document and vehicle checks and supporting the prevention of cross border crime
- Assisting return operations after completing specialised training
- Operating EU border management systems and technical equipment
- Identifying and supporting vulnerable persons and people in need of international protection
- Supporting logistics and supply chain functions during operations
- Working in multinational teams and supporting team and section leaders
- Cooperating with Fundamental Rights Monitors as required
The role involves physical tasks, shift work and deployment to challenging operational environments. Officers must act with responsibility, integrity and readiness to use force when necessary and in accordance with applicable law.
Eligibility requirements:
- Citizenship of an EU Member State or Schengen Associated Country
- University degree of at least three years (EQF level 6 or higher) or recognised professional training in a public uniformed service plus the required experience
- Clean criminal record (issued within the last six months) and readiness to carry and use service weapons, ammunition and equipment
- Physical fitness for training and operational duties
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Valid category B manual driving licence at the time of application

- Basic knowledge of EU institutions and EU border, coast guard or return related activities
- Awareness of fundamental rights and their implementation in law enforcement and migration management
- ICT skills relevant to operational scenarios
Nice to have:
- Experience of at least six months working in a multicultural environment, ideally abroad
- Five year contract as contract staff (renewable once) with nine month probation
