As Offshore Operations Manager (OOM), you are the operational counterpart to the Project Manager and hold direct responsibility for all operational and survey-related decisions throughout the lifecycle of offshore projects. You ensure that all offshore survey missions with uncrewed platforms are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements and company procedures.
Operational Leadership
- Act as the operational lead for all offshore survey missions involving uncrewed systems such as AUV, USV, ROV, and UAV
- Supervise the Remote Operations Center (ROC) and ensure effective online control and communication
- Maintain efficient information flow between onshore departments (Head of Engineering, Technical, and Project Management) and vessel teams (Party Chief, ELO, SLO)
- Coordinate with the Technical / Mobilization Department for the preparation, mobilization, and demobilization of vessels and systems
- Ensure that all operations comply with project-specific requirements, internal procedures, and HSE standards
Operational Planning & Quality Control
- Prepare and verify operational documentation, including:
- Project Execution Plans (PEP)
- Survey Line Plans and Line Documentation (in coordination with PC, HSE, Survey Lead)
- Survey Reports (Online Log, E-Log, Daily Progress Reports)
- Ship Plan and operational work instructions
- Conduct real-time online quality control, ensuring data flow, parameter accuracy, and charting deliverables meet specifications
- Capture and document lessons learned to support continuous improvement across operations
Technical Support & System Integration
- Support the engineering and technical teams in planning and implementing system modifications or sensor integrations required for specific projects
- Apply your survey expertise to ensure proper sensor alignment, calibration, and data integrity across platforms
- Act as a bridge between operations and engineering, ensuring that new or modified systems meet both technical and operational needs
- Your Profile
- Proven experience in offshore operations, survey coordination, or field management
- Solid understanding of offshore survey systems and uncrewed technologies (AUV, USV, ROV, UAV)
- High technical knowledge and the ability to analyze, understand, and adapt complex systems
- Experience working in an operational leadership role within survey or subsea operations
- Sound understanding of HSE, operational procedures, and quality assurance in offshore environments
- Education & Qualifications
- Background as a surveyor or comparable offshore technical discipline is a strong advantage
- Valid driver's license required
- Additional HSE or offshore operational training is a plus
- Soft Skills & Tools
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Danish is an advantage
- Willingness to travel and participate in offshore mobilizations when required
