Hapag-Lloyd Global IT is developing, integrating and operating industry leading IT systems that form the backbone of our global logistics business and are a key enabler in achieving Hapag-Lloyd's ambitious Strategy 2030 of becoming the industry's undisputed “#1 for quality”. To achieve our mission, we are partnering closely with our global business and are operating out of three major technology centers in Hamburg, Gdansk and Chennai. We continue our transformation towards complete cloudification of all our core systems, a standardized and mature agile way of working and applying state-of-the-art DevSecOps practices across our portfolio. As a Senior IT Project Manager (m/f/d) with focus on IT transformation, you will take charge of exciting initiatives geared towards further evolving our global organization. You will work with motivated individuals and teams from across the organization and manage stakeholders inside and outside IT to create lasting impact and measurable benefit for our IT and business.
  • You manage strategic projects independently – or run major workstreams as part of larger strategy, and transformation programs
  • You support and work through senior projects stakeholders – senior managers and senior external consultants and advisors
  • You guide and steer project teams at pace (either with dedicated staffing, or in their line organization) in a true “leading from behind” manner
  • You create high visibility and control on ongoing strategy or transformation activities – by setting up and leading project governance
  • You provide thought leadership on major strategic IT topics, including market and competitor reviews analyses

  • University degree in IT, business, logistics, engineering, natural sciences or a similar subject
  • Experience in project management including planning and implementation of strategy or transformation programs
  • Proven track record in managing and leading project teams
  • Results-oriented, rigorous go-getter – with a systematic and creative way of thinking
  • Very strong and independent analytic thinker – with business sense to “get things done”
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in English) and experience in communicating with various audiences including top management – in a collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge constructively when needed
