We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Munich-based Private Markets team in Global Investment Strategy. You will work alongside an international group of investment professionals to analyze major trends in private markets, support asset-class assessments, and help shape portfolio strategy across private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate. This immersive, hands-on role is ideal for students who combine strong analytical skills with genuine interest in investment strategy, especially alternative investments.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather and synthesize industry data, evaluate macro and sector trends, and maintain proprietary research databases.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Allianz's global investment strategy in the private markets space.
  • Conduct ad-hoc research on emerging themes (e.g., secondary markets, data centers etc.).
  • Update and improve quantitative/valuation models.
  • Support internal strategy and financial market communications.

  • Bachelor's or master's student in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or a quantitative discipline, with a strong academic record.
  • Previous internship or project work in investment management or related financial sector is a plus.
  • Strong interest in financial markets (esp. private markets) and macroeconomics.
  • Familiarity with portfolio-construction and asset-allocation concepts.
  • Advanced Excel / PowerPoint skills, experience with LSEG Workspace/Datastream, Bloomberg Terminal, Python, EViews is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to turn large data sets into clear insights.
