Business Analysis Lead EMEA (m/w/d)

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analysis Lead to oversee and guide our Business Analysis function within a major international transformation programme. In this senior role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Business Analysts, ensuring high-quality analysis, and acting as a key liaison between senior business and IT stakeholders. You will directly report to the Head of the Global Program and play a crucial role in shaping and executing our strategic vision for AON's future operations.
What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of Business Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the delivery of business analysis and requirements engineering activities across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with program objectives and business strategy.
- Act as a primary point of contact for senior business and IT stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and managing expectations at all levels.
- Drive the development and implementation of best-practice business analysis methodologies, tools, and standards.
- Ensure comprehensive requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design.
- Provide expert guidance on commercial insurance processes, leveraging your industry knowledge to influence decisions and drive effective outcomes.
- Support change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working.
- Monitor and report on progress, risks, and issues, proactively addressing challenges to deliver successful outcomes.
Skills and experience for success
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in business analysis and requirements engineering, with significant leadership responsibility in large, international transformation programs — preferably within commercial insurance.
- Deep understanding of insurance concepts, IT products/applications, and operations, with proven ability to translate business needs into effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams, including performance management and professional development.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging and securing buy-in from senior business and IT stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, able to see the “big picture” while managing detailed requirements.
- Self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Previous hands-on experience as a Business Analyst and relevant professional certification (e.g., CBAP) is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in project delivery, business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio).
- Fluent in English (essential); proficiency in additional European languages (Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Flemish) is an advantage.
