The DBSO Director, Lean is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Danaher companies, allowing those sites to meet their Policy Deployment (PD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Accelerate results in SQDC by leveraging DBS tools, mentoring skills, and change management processes. Assist OpCo and site leadership in the development of a DBS roadmap to meet PD/CVD/KPI requirements and DBS Sustainability. Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and mentoring at Gemba. Assist in achieving OpCo and / or site Policy Deployment and KPI objectives. Regularly participate in L1 or L2 PD reviews
- Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (DBSLO, DBS Bootcamps, Shingijutsu, etc.). Continue to evolve DBS tools, as prioritized through the annual DBSO Strat process. Ensure impactful kaizen events at mentored OpCos or sites
- Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them. As Process Tool owner for select DBS tools, promote the use and improvement of these tools and build a network of global CPs and ACPs to support Danaher and OpCO needs.
- Improve DBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing Certified Practitioner (CP) and Advanced Certified Practitioner (ACP) status in DBS tools
- Promote and facilitate associate development in DBS Fundamentals, Lean tools and other DBS tools as required. Support DBS learning across Danaher via self-help tools such as 1-point lessons, yammer, DBSO Office hours, etc. Evaluate and approve candidates for CP and ACP
- 10+ years of Operations or Engineering Leadership experience. BS or BA Degree in Engineering or Business required; Master's Degree preferred
- Ideally a minimum of Plant Manager / Director of Operations experience level or higher. Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager's” point of view. Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies (e.g., Assembly, Machining, etc.). Ideally familiar with driving change in regulated environments (e.g., FDA)
- Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS sustainability roadmap for an OpCo or site. Mastery of DBS Fundamentals and a variety of DBS Lean tools. Hands-on experience implementing DBS (or TPS) in a line Leader role. Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training environments
- Superior communications and training skills and adult learning theory. Superior mentoring and influencing skills. Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.). Must be self-sufficient administratively. Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
