Biofuels Market Analyst (m/f/d)

As a Biofuels Market Analyst (m/f/d), you play a key role in providing actionable, data-driven insights to our traders and other key stakeholders in the company. As part of the market intelligence team, you are driving MB Energy's view of one of the key components of the energy transition.
Your structured approach and analytical skills help us better understand market developments and strengthen our trading decisions. Your role will be directly interfacing with our global biofuels trading and market intelligence teams. By ensuring that data, systems, and processes are aligned and reliable, you contribute directly to the performance and efficiency of our energy trading business and support MB Energy's journey toward a more sustainable energy future.
- Data Analysis and Trade Ideas: You analyse large sets of trading and market data to identify trends, price drivers, and trading opportunities in the biofuels and feedstock markets.
- Monitoring Regulations: You stay on top of any regulatory changes impacting biofuels markets, quantify their impact and contextualise emerging risks and opportunities.
- Market Intelligence: You support the trading team by preparing timely and accurate market insights, contributing to the development of trading strategies.
- Clear Communication: You effectively bring across key points of your analysis, supported by data visualisation techniques.
- Continuous Improvement: You identify opportunities to enhance reporting, streamline data flows, and support automation projects that improve the efficiency and accuracy of trading operations.
- Education: You have completed a university degree in business, economics, engineering, data science, or a related field.
- Experience: You have initial practical experience in commodity markets, data analytics, or a comparable analytical role.
- Tool Proficiency: You possess strong skills in Excel; familiarity with tools like VBA, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is a plus.
- Technical Understanding: You are confident working with large data sets and deriving actionable insights; an interest in energy markets or trading is welcome.
- Language Skills: You are fluent in English; German is a strong asset.
