Sustainability Manager – Focus on NKG Verified (f/m/d)

In this role, you will be part of our Sustainable Supply Chain Standards team. You will take a coordinating and advisory role in the further development and global implementation of our internal verification scheme, NKG Verified, and support our group companies in meeting sustainability standards across diverse supply chains.


  • Proactive: You take ownership of the continuous development of NKG Verified. You identify synergies with other certification schemes, regulatory requirements, and local realities to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Results-driven and analytical: You manage internal monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to NKG Verified. You streamline and improve processes where needed to ensure effectiveness and clarity.
  • Organized: You coordinate the global implementation of NKG Verified, keeping track of progress across supply chains and ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Attentive to details: You ensure that all requirements of NKG Verified are fulfilled consistently across our export operations. This includes maintaining documentation of internal and external audits, policies, and entity lists to safeguard the quality and credibility of the system.
  • Service-oriented: You act as a service partner to our group companies. You improve communication, develop training materials and tools, and ensure that colleagues in our origins are well-equipped to implement NKG Verified and stay informed about updates.
  • Flexible: You contribute flexibly to the broader objectives of the team. This may include services related to other sustainability standards and certification schemes, helping to strengthen our human rights due diligence system, designing or managing sustainability projects, and participating in multi-stakeholder initiatives.

  • Education: You hold a university degree in Business Administration, Sustainability Management, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable field.
  • Cultural Awareness & Impact: You have a deep understanding of origin realities and are motivated to make a meaningful impact in global supply chains through collaboration and sustainable practices.
  • Background: You bring several years of relevant experience in project management and sustainability verification or certification schemes. Ideally, you have hands-on experience implementing certified supply chains in origin countries such as those producing coffee, cocoa, rubber, or grains.
  • Skills: You are able to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Your organizational and analytical abilities are excellent, and you enjoy working with data and digital tools. You are proficient in MS Excel and open to exploring digital solutions that improve efficiency. Experience with the GCP Equivalence Mechanism is a plus.
  • Personality: You are communicative, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and empathetic. You thrive in a coordinating role and enjoy supporting others in achieving shared goals.
  • Internationality: You speak fluent English and ideally also Spanish, Portuguese, or German. You bring strong intercultural skills and enjoy working in international environments.
