  • Collaborate with Executive Board members and business unit management to shape strategic direction for the business and the ZEISS Group

  • Provide thought leadership on business and corporate strategy

  • Independently scope and structure complex projects setting the right priorities

  • Lead strategic initiatives – often cross-functional and involving external partners – such as M&A strategies or identifying new business fields

  • Co-drive the ZEISS group strategy process

  • Ensure the business unit perspective is reflected in corporate strategy and engage stakeholders at all levels, including the Executive Board, and present clear recommendations


  • A degree with excellent grades in natural sciences, engineering or business

  • At least 5 years' experience in top management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar fast-paced strategy roles leading project teams – experience in a B2B high-tech manufacturing industry, and a combination of consulting and corporate experience are preferred

  • Strong problem-solving skills, results-orientation, project management and communication skills

  • Enjoy collaborating closely across organisational boundaries and working with interdisciplinary teams

  • Fluent English, German is a plus
