Turn industry expertise into structured insight – at scale
Statista's “Market Insights” is one of the world's most comprehensive data products for market modeling. It spans over 1,000 markets in 150+ countries and supports strategic decisions across industries. At the core of this offering is our ability to produce structured, relevant, and scalable market data – using logical, mathematical, and AI-powered models.
As Team Lead Consumer Market Data, you will lead a team of analysts producing high-value data on consumer goods and retail markets. You will report to the Head of Modelled Data and play a key role in shaping how Statista transforms its understanding of consumer behavior, industry dynamics, and business models into quantitative insight – powering decisions for customers worldwide.
Produce Consumer Data

Take ownership of data production for Consumer Markets – ensuring data volume, quality, and customer relevance

Guide your team in building robust mathematical, statistical, and logical models using Python and internal tools

Translate your in-depth understanding of Consumer markets into structured data – capturing dynamics, drivers, regional patterns, and key players in quantitative form
Interact with customers

Answer high-profile customer questions on data methodology, assumptions, and interpretation

Join strategic sales pitches and maintain relationships with key customers through regular expert exchanges

Act as internal expert on consumer industry data needs, aligning your work closely with business, product, and customer-facing stakeholders
Collaborate and lead
-
Lead and mentor a team of analysts – building a stable, motivated, and high-performing environment
-
Collaborate closely with peers in the Market Data team to standardize modeling logic, improve methodologies, scale Python codebases, and contribute to our market modeling agent

Contribute to the cross-department Consumer industry team – e.g., through joint editorial reports, aligned data releases, or strategic initiatives like tariff modeling
-
Work closely with Data Engineering to improve modeling infrastructure and tooling
-
1+ years of experience in leading analytical or technical teams
-
Over 5 years of experience in the Consumer industry or related fields, bringing deep domain expertise supported by strong knowledge of relevant databases, benchmarking tools, and up-to-date awareness of key industry trends

Proficient in Python – you can read, understand, and discuss logical models and code with your team

Solid foundation in math/statistics – and strong conceptual clarity when it comes to modeling logic

Deep understanding of data – from generation to modeling to customer value, including how to optimize data for LLM/RAG and structured data products

Strong business acumen – you understand customer jobs-to-be-done, business processes, and how your data supports real-world use cases

Experience in customer-facing communication – you can explain your data confidently and clearly to demanding stakeholders

Well-structured, self-organized, and quality-driven – you take pride in delivering reliable results with independence and clarity
