the official representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) in commercial relations and other economic and trade matters in Germany, Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Switzerland. Its mission is to foster closer economic and trade ties between Hong Kong and these eight countries.Applications are now invited for the following position based in Berlin:
Administrative Assistant (Commercial and Public Relations) (m/f/d)
The gross monthly salary is EUR 4.004, commensurate with relevant experience.
- To monitor newspapers and magazines for major news of the countries under the purview of the Berlin ETO and reports on Hong Kong, and prepare daily press reviews;
- To monitor media news and prepare reports and briefs including country profiles and bi-monthly reports;
- To assist in creating textual, graphic and video content for promotional campaigns and events organised or supported by the Berlin ETO;
- To assist in creating and posting promotional and targeted content on Berlin ETO's website and social media accounts (including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube), and devising social media plans and monthly social media reports;
- To assist in the production and issuance of newsletters and e-news on information about Hong Kong;
- To draft and arrange translation of articles, press releases, speeches and other documents;
- To assist in arranging visits of senior officials to and from Hong Kong, and organising commercial and public relation events such as Chinese New Year receptions, business seminars and briefings;
- To handle enquiries from the media and the public;
- To maintain the database of media and local contacts, and provide support for media and social media subscriptions; and
- To perform any other duties as assigned by supervising officers.
- Qualification: Equivalent to Diploma or above, preferably in Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration or Economics.
- Experience: At least two years of experience in public relations, event management, or administration and accounting.
- Language: Excellent presentation and communication skills in English (business proficiency) and German (advanced level, i.e. CEFR C1), proficiency in other Central European languages would be an advantage.
- Others: Experience of living and/or doing business in Hong Kong would be an asset. Eligible to undertake employment in Germany without further arrangement of work visa.
The selected candidate will be appointed on contract term for a period of up to two years (including a probation of six months), with the possibility of long-term employment upon satisfactory performance during the first two years.Mehr
