To support our staff from January 2026, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced:

IB DP Biology & IB MYP General Science Teacher as maternity cover (18 months).

In this role, you will teach and support students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and Middle Years Programmes within a collaborative and international school environment. It's a great opportunity to bring your passion for science education into a diverse and forward-thinking community. This role is open to provide maternity leave cover and is a 18 months fixed-term contract.


  • Teach IB DP Biology and MYP Science with passion and precision, cultivating inquiry-led learning across multiple scientific disciplines in alignment with IB standards.
  • Plan and deliver dynamic, differentiated lessons that challenge and inspire students, meeting IB criteria and fostering deep conceptual understanding.
  • Guide student progress through robust assessment practices, including formative feedback, summative evaluations, and support with Internal Assessments (IAs)
  • Engage in collaborative curriculum development, co-designing interdisciplinary units and contributing to schoolwide academic initiatives.
  • Participate fully in school life, including faculty meetings, communications with parents, and leadership or support in extracurricular programmes.
  • Drive the ongoing evolution of the science department, championing best practices in IB pedagogy and contributing to continuous improvement efforts


  • Native‑level or near‑native fluency in English, ensuring articulate and effective communication in all classroom and community interactions.
  • A recognized teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, M.Ed., Staatsexamen, or an equivalent credential—emphasizing professional credibility.
  • Proven experience in classroom teaching, ideally within international, bilingual, or multicultural educational settings.
  • Experience teaching IB Biology and/or Science, in the Middle Years Programme and/or Diploma Programme is highly desirable and enhances your candidacy.
  • Formal IB training or certification (e.g., IB Educator Certificate or workshop participation) is considered a strong asset—demonstrating commitment to IB pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and intercultural skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families across cultural contexts.
  • Basic proficiency in German is welcome and beneficial, though not required—ideal for contributing to a multilingual school environment.
