Opportunity
Be part of shaping the future of inline quality inspection for battery manufacturing as a part of the EU-funded consortium STELLAR that will develop safe, sustainable, and high-throughput production of li-metal anodes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with a broad range of partners with deep experience across the battery value chain, from materials science and simulation to production and testing. Supported by the deep expertise in thin film measurement within ZEISS the challenge will be to develop innovative solutions that meet the unique challenges faced in this consortium. Travel between ZEISS and partner sites will cement the supportive network needed to reach the ambitious goals.
The geographic anchor point will be the ZEISS innovation Hub @ KIT. Rapidly develop a deep understanding in the state-of-the-art in thin film thickness measurements

Learn to directly lease with stakeholders to understand user needs and evaluate solutions from technical and business perspectives

Define and develop solutions, and ultimately integrate them into a prototype coating machine

A master's degree in physics, photonics, electrical Engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or comparable field with excellent results (submit transcripts with application).

Knowledge in the field of optics and spectroscopy is a plus
