- Conduct correspondence through printed materials to former employees of Crane. Collaborate with the human resources departments of the respective locations, the German Pension Insurance and former employees and their families.
- Conduct assessments of applicants' financial needs at home, in the office or over the phone to propose assistance from the Crane Fund. This includes gathering financial and personal information from retirees as well as family members to recommend the most appropriate assistance, measure or tender for other benefits.
- Conduct annual home visits to existing Crane Fund recipients to determine continued eligibility for the Crane Fund and appropriateness of payment level. This will involve planning and executing trips within Germany, as well as to Slovenia and Hungary.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for Crane Fund Board of Trustees regarding new applicants eligible for the Fund and existing recipients requiring a change in payment level or status with the Fund.
- Payment processing: Conducting, controlling and documenting electronic bank transfers.
- Provide counsel and guidance to individuals and families regarding other support services available to them through government and community resources to help them cope with problems related to aging, loss of cognitive abilities and declining health.
- Serve as a contact person for former employees and their widowed spouses and ensuring that everyone is assessed individually according to their own financial situation and is not stereotyped or discriminated against.
- Maintain data on all Crane Fund applicants and recipients; managing the German office of the Crane Fund, making payments to the beneficiaries and coordinating all administrative tasks with the Crane Fund in the USA.
- Ensure that benefit recipients' information and records are kept up to date and that legal requirements for data protection are met, including the need to ensure that all computer and hard copy information is kept secure and confidential.
Required Qualifications:
- Social worker with state recognition or experience in assessing needs within the social benefits system.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in an environment in which social care was provided for the elderly and/or people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of home care and relevant, current knowledge of legal and social policy.
- Evidence of the ability to manage individual care independently, prioritize workload and implement sound time management principles.
- Current comprehensive knowledge of the state welfare system.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of word processing, experience and knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license with no entries in the traffic record.
- Willingness to travel throughout Germany, Europe and the USA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of access to resources for the elderly and people with disabilities.
- Good math skills and knowledge of budget management.
- Experience in home banking.
