Event and Community Manager (m/f/x) - Alumni Partnerships (m/f/x)
The position is full-time with a two-year contract (with a good prospect for a permanent position).
As the Event and Community Manager for the Alumni Partnerships Team, you play an important role in shaping and fostering our vibrant alumni community through strategic event management.
You are responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events that strengthen and expand our community as integral parts of HPI alumni community through community-building initiatives and events. These events will take place in person on our campus in Potsdam, hybrid or online. You will also support our worldwide alumni groups in organizing events in their location. Your efforts will be crucial to extending our alumni network and for more offerings for for our alumni community to life and establishing its presence. In close collaboration with other members of the alumni team and the HPI Partnerships team, you will develop and implement strategies to enhance engagement, foster interactions, and build a cohesive community.
- Event Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute events that align our strategy to extend our offers for our alumni and develop standalone events that cater to the broader community's interests
- Strategic Event Development: Strategically create and lead new event initiatives that engage various segments of our community, driving HPI's visibility, alumni identification with their alma mater and community sprit
- Community Building: Actively work to grow and strengthen the HPI alumni community by implementing engagement strategies and facilitating opportunities for networking and collaboration among alumni
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing and Alumni Relations Managers in our team to align event strategies with alumni goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to community engagement
- Feedback and Adaptation: Gather input from community members to continuously improve the relevance and impact of events and community initiatives
- Experience: 5 years + proven experience in managing and executing events (preferably within the tech, startup, or university context) with a strong link to building and nurturing professional communities (fostering collaborative environments and networking opportunities)
- Proven experience of 5+ years in community or partner management
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English, capable of engaging a diverse audience and managing communications across multiple platforms
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Educational Background: at least a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business, Event Management, Communications, Marketing
- Social Media Knowledge: proven experience in working of various social media platforms, their specific audiences, and strategies to boost engagement within a professional community
- Creativity and Innovation: Creative thinker who can propose innovative solutions for event management and community engagement that align with organizational goals
- Collaborative Approach: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team, particularly in collaborating closely with Marketing and Communications Program teams to align efforts and enhance the community experience
