For our site Diehl Metering GmbH in Nuremberg, starting from October 1st 2025, we are looking for a:
Student (m/f/d) for a master thesis – non-local and mixed sensor systems: evaluation of correction algorithms
- Based on simulations and measurements of a sensor system consisting of various sensors installed in a water distribution network, you will investigate the properties of the single sensors.
- You will apply the concept of Kalman filters and similar algorithmic concepts to the data of the sensor system.
- You will evaluate your findings in terms of measurement accuracy and data quality of the respective sensors and sensor system.
- You will communicate your findings to the team and afterwards you will write a thesis about your project.
- Studies in one of the following subjects: Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
- Knowledge in statistical data analysis, data reduction and sensor data fusion beneficial
- Experience in Python programming language including typical libraries like pandas or NumPy
- Understanding of sensor systems and digitalization of measurement values advantageous
- Basic knowledge regarding numerical optimization algorithms beneficial
- First experience in physical simulation of sensorics or sensor systems advantageous
