With a fleet of 287 modern container ships and a Vessel Capacity 2.2 million TEU, as well as a Container Capacity 3.2 million TEU including one of the world's largest and most modern reefer container fleets, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world's leading liner shipping companies. In the Liner Shipping segment, the Company has around 13.500 employees and 400 offices in 139 countries. Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 11.9 million TEU – including one of the largest and most modern fleets of reefer containers. A total of 114 liner services worldwide ensure fast and reliable connections between more than 600 ports across the world. In the Terminal & Infrastructure segment, Hapag-Lloyd has stakes in 20 terminals in Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa. The roughly 2.600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment deal with terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.
The routes we offer to our customers are critical to our business to ensure that we not only meet our customers' requirements but ensure that we optimize our transit times and costs. Join our team with this new role dedicated to routing and steering quality.
Network optimisation
- Central role driving route optimisation among TMs on strategical and tactical basis
- Regular routing review to discover opportunities for improved routes based on cost and transit time and the governance thereof
- Review Illogical routings, to prevent increased cost and lower service quality to customers
- Support Tender routing improvement to allow us to offer our tender customers routes which help us to optimise our network and their business
- Structured competitor route review to ensure the routes we offer are in line with market standards.
- Volume Flow model governance and quality review
- Creation of Quarterly Shuttle space requirements & connection priorities submitted for all Gemini services
Process and Performance Efficiency
- Model Processes for all routing related topics
- Define methodology on offering optimal routes considering network requirements and restictions
- Define “emergency” procedures for routing e.g. Red Sea crisis
- Define business requirements for future routing products e.g. ATLAS
- Support testing, deployment of tools
- Regular exchange with all TMs on best practices and expertise
- Central point of entry for TM in Routing and Volume Flow matters
- Routing performance management, e.g. define KPIs and performance monitoring
- Degree in Shipping, Transportation or related discipline
- Self-motivated, solution oriented, organized and proactive personality
- Willing to take ownership of tasks and responsibility
- Open minded individual with strong communication skills
- Experience in dealing with different stakeholder groups
- Ability to develop and implement new concepts and structures
- Knowledge about Hapag-Lloyd's global product offering (Network & Partners)
- Operational background and Sales Steering experience welcome
- Excellent command of spoken and written English language
