The position

The HBK In Process Business Unit develops solutions for customers to enhance the reliability and accuracy of their systems, processes, and products. Its Account Managers' Sales Team provides HBK standard and tailor-made key physical properties sensors, data acquisition systems, and services for in-line measurements, product quality control, weighing, and monitoring applications.

Our typical customers are OEMs, system integrators, machinery manufacturers, engineering companies, as well as end users in various industries such as aerospace and defense, ground transportation, food and beverage, agriculture and marine, medical and pharmaceutical, robotics and industrial automation, scales, energy, electronics, and many others.

To get closer to our customers and strengthen our market position, we are currently looking for a sales professional to fill the Field Sales Engineer (m/f/d) position within the European Account Managers Team in the mid of Germany. You can work from anywhere, but regular travel to our Darmstadt office is obligatory.


  • Managing a portfolio of assigned key accounts.
  • Developing new sales opportunities from existing customers.
  • Converting high potential prospects into new clients.
  • Managing sales opportunities from inception to closure.
  • Leading negotiations following a win-win model.
  • Managing the customer journey across multiple touchpoints to optimize time and hit sales targets.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (sensors business is a plus).
  • Positive mindset and collaborative spirit.
  • Strong commercial acumen to connect with multiple customer stakeholders.
  • Ability to liaise with cross-functional internal teams to manage complex sales.
  • Technical background to understand customer queries and recommend suitable HBK solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German (mother tongue) and English.
  • Familiarity with IT tools such as CRM, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
  • High-level organizational and problem-solving skills to adapt to changes and embrace everyday challenges.
