Unit description
BTO will drive security of supply, energy transition, organizational and financial health through digital, data and analytics. BTO will secure solid foundations through seamless end-user services (UX), industry-leading cybersecurity setup and resilient data centers and cloud infrastructure. BTO will have consistent business/BTO alignment, strategic partnerships with vendors and clear standards on architecture, vendor & portfolio management and security. BTO will unlock value of data and digital by building all the necessary enablers (incl. data platform, data governance processes, capabilities) and embedding innovation initiatives into business roadmaps.TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We are looking for a passionate Enterprise Architect - Enabling Functions and Data (m/w/d) at our location Bayreuth who will contribute to this. That might be you?

You work together with BTO's IT Architects and Domain Head to develop and continuously improve architecture standards and overall architecture landscape. We need integrated architecture combined with end-to-end process focus to improve the solid foundation of Processes, Data, Applications and Information Technology. You are the contact person for senior leadership regarding all Enabling & Data architecture related topics and required decisions. We are looking for someone that:
- Takes ownership of the architecture domain, the process and products,
- Shows courage and stands for his/her vision, gets people on board by steering from their beliefs
- Actively connects with all stakeholders, collaborates with business, external suppliers, IT architects, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure a shared architectural vision. He/she is especially strong in organizing and mobilizing the organization to reach that joint vision
- Actively contributes to the development, assessment, and realization of the Enterprise Architecture and the Enterprise Architecture Governance
- Establishes principles, governance and guidance for maturing our Enabling & Data architecture capability, with a focus on standardization and modularization
- Develops and implements the enterprise-wide Enabling & Data architecture and framework, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Develops the roadmap, and outline how this target architecture is realized
- Designs and implements scalable and integrated solutions across various functions
- Sets expectations for quality, consistency, and delivery, ensuring that those standards are met and improved over time
- Monitors implementation of key projects like ERP implementation, data lakes, data quality frameworks, and ensuring proper escalation and reporting to senior management stakeholders
- Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies and trends in architecture and data, assessing their potential value and relevance for TenneT
- 10+ years of experience in a similar function, preferably you have done this before. Having business (TSO/Utilities/Infra asset) understanding is a big plus
- Strong experience in leadership roles, focusing on architectural solutions for strategic importance. You negotiate support for difficult decisions, anticipate problems, and ensure that credibility and trust are uncompromised
- Strong experience with industry standards and best practices in IT/OT data, data lakes, data analytics, application and data integration
- In depth knowledge on ERP/SAP, ECM platforms, automation frameworks, IT infrastructure, asset management, SCADA systems and OT
- Ability to motivate stakeholders to fit architecture into the company's strategy. You do this by inspiration rather than through direct authority
- Capable to functionally guide the IT Architects
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF and ArchiMate are preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills in English. Fluent in German and/or Dutch is an advantage
