The Role

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Group Financial Assistant to join our finance team. In this role, you will support the financial operations of our organisation, providing assistance in various aspects of financial management across multiple entities within our group. The ideal candidate will have a background in finance, analytical skills, the ability to work autonomously, and the capability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Additionally, you will contribute to streamlining processes and freeing up time for senior finance staff.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for multiple entities within the group.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering relevant data, preparing reports, and assisting in the development of financial projections.
  • Assist in the coordination and consolidation of financial information from various departments and subsidiaries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Help manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
  • Collaborate with other members of the finance team to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and implement best practices.
  • Assist with documentation, data management tasks, and ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as needed, providing support to other stakeholders.

  • Commercial apprenticeship or similar training.
  • First experience in a financial role, preferably within a group or multi-entity environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and software applications is a plus.
