ABB AG

Jobbeschreibung

Take your next career step at ABB with a global team that is energizing the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future.

At ABB, we have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions: gender, LGBTQ+, abilities, ethnicity and generations. Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences. In the case of equal suitability, people with severe disabilities and their equals are given preference.

If you are an ambitious engineer with experience in stability analysis and optimization in energy grids and if you have additional experience with industrial software/data, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for someone who would like to apply his/her knowledge in a challenging and fascinating environment and join our team of passionate researchers. In this role, you will help us develop the next generation of ABB electrification and automation systems. This is your chance to contribute together with us to a sustainable energy transition.

We are seeking a highly qualified scientist/engineer in the field of electrical engineering and control with a background in energy distribution or a similar field. You should also have additional expertise in software development or optimization. Your key focus will be to develop innovative software solutions to drive the energy transition, digitalization, and optimization in industrial grids and electrification. To that end, you will conduct applied research in those fields and initiate, lead and participate in corresponding projects.

You will work on the fascinating boundary of research and product development within an international team of highly motivated scientists. As a member of our research group, you will cover everything from problem definition, data exploration, and simulation to modelling, software development and project management. Your work will enable new ways of operating, maintaining, controlling, and optimizing industrial energy grid systems. Your technical and cross-cultural communication skills will be required to establish the link between internal research, external research, academia, and ABB's international business lines.
