The Strategic Business Development team is responsible for the financial planning, controlling, performance & opportunity checking from the country perspective. Additionally, we work with the Business Units on select strategic tasks as project/business analysts. As a Business Development Manager on this team, you'll work on cross-functional projects that impact every aspect of trivago's business across the globe! - Own the financial processes and country performance monitoring, including quarterly market level forecasts
- Coordinate strategic initiatives like planning, business controlling, yearly financial planning, and quarterly forecasting for multiple markets
- Assist Business Units with strategy formation and establishing quarterly objectives by providing a holistic end-to-end view of the company
- Supply Business Units with structured and actionable insights from the region/market perspective, challenging status-quo, and providing perspective from the market
- Manage cross-departmental alignment with functional leads and a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels
- Carry out in-depth analyses of critical performance drivers and market/competitive benchmarking
- 3+ years' relevant work experience
- Broad business knowledge with a solid understanding of how to leverage diverse user acquisition strategies in a test-and-learn framework to drive revenue and contribution margin growth
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to increase overall productivity and grow profit channels
- Proficiency with using a data-driven approach to identify business opportunities and make strategic decisions
- A strategic mindset which allows you to scale focus in and out of topics to understand the full business implications
