  • As an integral part of the Legal & Compliance EMEA Team with a direct reporting line to the General Counsel & Compliance Officer EMEA you are responsible for the compliance duties and obligations of Merz Aesthetics GmbH and support its affiliates in the EMEA region in all compliance matters
  • You develop, implement & oversee comprehensive compliance strategies and programs and ensure their alignment with internal standards and business objectives
  • You ensure that operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules by monitoring and maintaining a legal compliance program and proactively auditing documents
  • You conduct and oversee internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed, evaluate the efficiency of controls, revise procedures and reports, etc.
  • You serve as the key point of contact for all matters related to data privacy compliance within Merz Aesthetics GmbH and its affiliates in the EMEA region and lead the development, implementation and monitoring of measures to ensure compliance with the GDPR and other European or national data protection regulations
  • You maintain a functioning data protection management system
  • You are in charge of consulting in/ negotiation of data processing agreements with service providers (e.g. agencies, CROs), as well as compliance with monitoring obligations
  • You are proactively involved in the development and implementation of policies, SOPs, trainings and/or work instructions related to compliance and data protection topics to ensure a consistent approach across the organization as well as a solid integration of compliance and data privacy considerations into business processes and projects
  • You stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting compliance and data privacy and identify and assess compliance and data privacy risks witihin the EMEA region, implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.

  • German Law degree or university degree with substantial knowledge in German law with a Compliance/Data Privacy focus
  • 5+ years in risk management or compliance roles in the industry (preferably pharmaceuticals/ medical devices industry), or in an international law firm, advising on compliance and data privacy
  • Advanced experience in data privacy, risk management, as well as in the development and maintenance of compliance management systems, very good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures
  • Business fluent in German and English (oral and written)
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies and exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to provide compliance leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of integrity, ethics and accountability
  • Strong affinity to IT/ data management systems is a plus.
