  • organisation of all local logistics inbound and outbound processes and services

  • optimization of logistics processes and solutions w.r.t. reliability, costs, time and taking into account local and regional trade regulations

  • scheduling of materials and parts in line with deadlines and orders to ensure serviceability in the field / SSC / customer

  • definition of min / max stocks of the service storage locations

  • definition of storage location, material type and quantity depending on the required response time, number and type of installed base, customer agreement

  • determine delivery type and delivery rhythm

  • define and implement requirements for cleanliness and packaging (cleanroom suitability)

  • define and implement repair process for returns from the field

  • support with esacalation, ensure material availability accordingly

  • analyze material supply bottlenecks, initiate measures to eliminate them.

  • coordinate and arrange bridging options

  • agree special measures with suppliers (e.g. express deliveries, postponements, selection of other suppliers)

  • ensure security of supply for new product launches, coordinate discontinuation of parts/materials when products are discontinued, optimize costs

  • keeping linkage to inhouse support functions (Procurement, Administartion, SSC service and logistics) and inhouse supplier (i.e. RMS)

  • networking in Zeiss logistics community of practice

  • participation in best practice exchange between CZ units and project workshops


  • studies of Economy, Engineering or similar, ideally with focus on supply chain/logistics

  • 5+ work experience in supply chain, service logistics or back office

  • experience as export officer or export manager

  • basic knowledge of relevant trade compliance matters

  • used to work with SAP SD and MM modules, good knowledge of MS Office tools

  • basic experience in project management, preferably in an international environment

  • good communication skills, ability to work in intercultural teams, flexibility

  • solid basis of English business
