Does empowering Entrepreneurs, who are shaping the Deep Tech ecosystem with novel and disruptive technologies, excite you? ZEISS Ventures, a unit within the ZEISS Group, identifies start-ups that challenge and advance technological frontiers in fields as diverse as Robotics, Tissue Engineering, Augmented/Virtual Reality, and Innovative Vision Care solutions. We are looking for an Investment Manager who would identify market shaping trends that are between, beyond, or disruptive to the core strategic business units of the ZEISS Group and turn them into successful ventures.

Closely work with strategic players and thought leaders on identifying megatrends

Independently execute the entire investment process from deal sourcing, due diligence, investment analysis, deal structuring to closing and manage portfolio companies to maximize their potential, even until exit

Network and cultivate internal partnerships within ZEISS to provide funding and resources for new ventures; full responsibility for the relationship with business sectors including support for investment opportunities but also shaping their innovation strategy

Actively engage in the venture capital community (external and within ZEISS group) to drive ideas and methods that will accelerate and redefine the way we solve problems for our customers

Take over more and more responsibility in running and further building ZEISS external ventures activities

Several years relevant experience in a high-performance environment (Venture Capital, Start-up, Strategy Consulting, etc.) working on the Venture Capital investment process from ideation to realization with a focus on investments in the Deep Tech and/or Healthcare or related verticals.

Background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Life Sciences/Healthcare ideally coupled with an MBA or similar commercial education.

Entrepreneurial experience in a start-up is a plus

Ability to influence internal stakeholders up to the C-Level in a large global organization as well as founders and external Venture Capital community.
