Purpose of the role:

Support strategic initiatives with Op. Units, drive tech and data strategy and investments on a group-wide level.


  • Contribute to developing a Group Portfolio Investment & Strategy with a 3-5 year view with a focus on the Content & Publishing Segment
  • Support group-wide and business unit specific strategic initiatives, focusing on Digital, Data and Tech
  • Help define a clear action plan for strategic initiatives, monitor implementation of action plan and detect deviations
  • Navigate in an international set-up with colleagues in Europe, US and Asia

Hard Skills:

  • Experience in data, tech and digital fields. Well versed in evolution of tech/digital advancements in the industry and ability to translate the impact of these trends to HPG's businesses
  • Robust methodological skills i. e. in strategy tools, workshopping, problem solving, business models analyses (USP, competitive positioning etc.)
  • Financial skills to translate strategy into numbers/business plan understanding revenue models and margin mechanics
  • Strong execution skills to drive implementation of action plans
  • Anticipation and rapid uptake of emerging business-critical trends and technologies, such as Generative AI

Personal Skills:

  • Highly analytical mind, able to challenge status quo
  • Commercial/entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action
  • Highly organised with good time management skills, able to adhere to deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate confidently and effectively in German and English
  • Good listening skills to enable a collaborative relationship with business leadership
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a proactive approach and drive for results

  • 3 to 5 years in digital strategy or business consulting
  • Track record in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with a focus on data, digital and tech-driven fields
  • Preference for media industry expertise
  • Experience in working with interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy
