Job Description

GIS Analyst - (BIA0006KG)
    •    Use a range of data capture, analysis, visualisation, advanced spatial analysis and compliance technologies, including Jacobs ProjectMapper and TrackRecord systems to create, maintain, manage, analyse, interpret and present geospatial data
    •    Collects, prepares, digitizes, and codes spatial data into GIS format
    •    Conducts mapping research to ensure accurate use of data and resolve conflicting information
    •    Develops and maintains links between attributes and other databases
    •    Interprets source documents, such as engineering plans, plot maps, and legal descriptions and enters required data into GIS
    •    Maintains and updates GIS databases using the ESRI suite of ArcGIS software
    •    Spatial analysis and production of maps and figures to identify environmental constraints and support environmental assessments
    •    Use of webGIS to create web maps and web applications
    •    Management of data across the whole of the programme lifecycle
    •    Integration of data from mobile data capture software
    •    Work closely with programme management and technical teams, including planners, engineers and technologists
    •    Work closely with the client teams and the regional planning offices on integration and exchange of data
    •    Analyse and manage data to provide accurate information to the programme teams and clients
    •    Implementation of data security protocols for the protection of personal data

    •    Knowledge and experience of GIS theory and application to engineering / utilities sectors
    •    Experience with the Esri suite of software, including: Desktop: ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox. Web: ArcGIS Enterprise, Web App Builder, Insights. Apps: Collector for ArcGIS, Survey123
    •    Extensive experience in the use of ArcGIS desktop software and extensions
    •    Knowledge of databases and GIS systems integration
    •    Experience with GIS development and customisation
    •    Experience with interactive web-based GIS and/or enterprise GIS technologies
    •    Information management skills to facilitate Spatial Data Infrastructure for complex data projects
    •    Experience in management of mobile data capture software such as ArcGIS Collector
    •    Knowledge and experience in the use of computer software products and databases including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Experience with SharePoint beneficial
    •    Knowledge and understanding of data security requirements
    •    Quick learner and have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced and high pressure environment
    •    Ability and flexibility to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    •    Good time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
    •    Excellent communication skills
    •    Degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent training and experience
    •    At least 3 years experience in GIS applications
    •    Good ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and within a network organisation.
    •    Solution-oriented, precise with attention to detail
    •    Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders
