Sterigenics Germany GmbH is part of the Sotera Health Group, the global market leader in the contract sterilization of medical products. The group employs approximately 2,700 people across 43 facilities in 13 countries. Our site in Wiesbaden operates under the German Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and currently employs around 115 staff members.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will supervise a team of technicians responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Ethylene Oxide (EO) sterilization systems and associated facility equipment. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintain a strong safety culture, and oversee all maintenance activities to guarantee reliability and performance. While your primary role is supervision, you will also provide hands-on technical support when required to resolve critical issues.


  • EO Sterilization Systems
    • Supervise maintenance activities for EO sterilization chambers, aeration rooms, and emission control systems.
    • Ensure compliance with EO-related safety and environmental regulations.
    • Supervise and complete documentation and reporting for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring proper training on EO safety and technical procedures.
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and foster a proactive maintenance culture.
  • Maintenance Oversight
    • Oversee a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program and ensure timely execution.
    • Monitor maintenance schedules and performance through CMMS.
    • Provide hands-on technical assistance when necessary to resolve complex or urgent issues.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Drive EHS compliance across all maintenance operations.
    • Ensure contractors adhere to EO handling protocols and site safety standards.
    • Support audits and maintain certifications relevant to EO sterilization.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and equipment reliability improvements.
    • Contribute to long-term maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering OR completed technical apprenticeship with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in maintenance or engineering within a manufacturing or sterilization environment.
  • Knowledge of EO sterilization processes and associated safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Proficient in CMMS and MS Office; able to interpret technical documentation.
  • Fluent in German and English.
