Technical Sales Engineer (m/f/d)
Amsterdam (Purmerend) | Full time
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be one of the first point of contacts for our customers. You actively listen to their requirements, provide technical and commercial solutions, and contribute ideas that create added value.
- Translating commercial objectives into concrete actions to ensure revenue growth and customer satisfaction
- Identifying market opportunities and optimize the sales process
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers at all organizational levels (executive, operations, engineering, purchasing, maintenance, finance)
- Evaluating incoming inquiries, preparing quotations, and ensuring timely follow-up
- Updating prices and delivery times for budgets and quotations
- Monitoring market and international developments and providing structured reporting (monthly/quarterly)
- Managing the initial application evaluation, equipment pre-qualification and selection; calculating costs, prices, and preparing proposals
- Coordinating order transfer to technical teams in Netherland and worldwide, and supporting project execution from order to start-up
- Handling technical issues in collaboration with service consultants and manufacturers
- Keeping administration and sales KPIs up to date using CRM and ERP systems
- Higher professional education (technical or commercial) with several years of experience and affinity for technology
- Strong communication skills and ability to convince without exaggeration – sincerity and reliability are your strengths
- Customer focus is in your DNA: you are presentable and communicate clearly
- Structured and accurate work attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CRM and/or ERP systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and visualize details in three dimensions; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
- Good command of Dutch and English (spoken and written); German is a definite advantage
- Willingness to travel (approx. 10–30 %)
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 5 years in technical sales or related industries (bulk material handling, equipment/system sales, maintenance, services)
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and installation principles
- Familiarity with cement, minerals, metallurgy, power, or fertilizer industries
- A dynamic and international work environment with close collaboration between teams in the Netherland and worldwide
