As Director Group Controlling (all genders) you will be responsible for our Group Controlling function, ensuring high-quality financial steering, transparency, and performance management across all group entities. The ideal candidate is an agile finance leader with strong process fluency, deep understanding of integrated financial statements, and the ability to drive both quick operational improvements and long-term transformation initiatives – including the introduction of advanced AI tools to enhance reporting, forecasting, and process efficiency. This position is based at our headquarters in Hamburg or in our offices in Berlin or Dresden.
You can also support us on a part-time basis (at least 32 hours per week).
- Degree in business, finance, economics, or comparable field, ideally with focus on Finance or Controlling.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Controlling or Finance, ideally including leadership responsibility.
- Strong business acumen and ability to present complex financial topics clearly.
- High personal standards for accuracy and performance even under pressure.
- Strong self-management, structured way of working, and ability to operate on your own.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling.
- Experience with MS Dynamics NAV and reporting tools such as Business Objects, IBM COGNOS TM1, or data warehouse applications is an advantage.
- Experience with digital tools and openness to implementing AI-driven solutions in financial processes is a strong plus.
- Very strong German and English language skills.
- You provide functional and disciplinary leadership to the Group Controlling team (currently 4 direct reports).
- You lead, manage, and execute the internal planning and budgeting processes across our five operating entities.
- You act as a sparring partner to senior management and own all aspects of management reporting, including ad-hoc analyses.
- You contribute to special projects, including M&A-related activities and strategic finance initiatives.
- You serve as the central point of contact for shareholder reporting and communication of financial development across entities.
- You oversee high-quality variance analyses and calculation of special items for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- You proactively derive strategic recommendations based on financial insights, present them to management, and drive implementation.
- You continuously develop, optimize, and enhance internal controlling tools, reporting structures, and financial processes.
