Job Description

The Chair of Organisation, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (Professor Carolin Häussler) at the University of Passau invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position/Assistant Professor (Akademischer Rat auf Zeit) to start (preferably) on 1 May 2026. The vacant assistant professorship is a 1.0 FTE position, based on a fixed-term contract of initially three years, with the option of a three-year renewal following a positive performance evaluation (3+3 contract). The position is remunerated at pay grade A13 of the Bavarian civil service pay scale, with the salary step assignment based on your experience and marital status ( https://oeffentlicher-dienst.info/beamte/by/ ). The position The successful candidate will join a highly motivated and ambitious research group of management and economics scholars interested in technology and innovation management, digital innovation, and/or entrepreneurship. You will proactively engage in developing ambitious research projects, publish in leading academic journals and contribute to the teaching excellence of the chair and the department. You will also take an active role in collaborating with faculty and doctoral students and contribute to the development of the department. What we seek You are a highly motivated and passionate researcher who has completed (or is about to complete) a doctoral degree in management, business administration or a related research field with research interest in innovation, entrepreneurship and/or applied economics. You have demonstrated outstanding research potential through excellent thesis research, a promising research pipeline and, if applicable, publications in top-tier, peer reviewed journals. You enjoy working in diverse and interdisciplinary teams and are actively engaged in the international research community. You have excellent analytical skills and a keen interest in questions related to the science of science and innovation. You are willing to proactively contribute to ambitious quantitative empirical research projects and to publish in leading academic journals. Your work will draw on institutional- or individual-level quantitative data. You are open-minded, a strong team player, and motivated and able to conduct research projects independently and diligently. You have excellent spoken and written English language skills. Knowledge of German is advantageous but not required. What we offer you A dynamic, stimulating and international environment, with research and travel budget.
